Our Story

Tahlequah Farmer's Market has been a cherished local attraction in Cherokee County for two decades. Established to support local farmers and small businesses, our market serves as a vibrant hub for community engagement and fresh, locally sourced products. Join us every Saturday from April through October to explore a diverse selection of produce, handmade goods, and unique offerings from our vendors. As we celebrate our 20th year in 2026, we remain committed to fostering a sustainable and thriving local economy. Our market is more than just a place to shop; it's a gathering space where relationships are nurtured, and traditions are celebrated. Experience the heart of our community and be part of our story.

Our Mission

Tahlequah Farmer's Market is a nonprofit 501(c)3 run by a volunteer Board of Directors. Our mission is to provide local access to Northeast Oklahoma grown and made in Northeast Oklahoma products. We work to support the economic growth of Northeast Oklahoma's small farms and local artisans/crafters by providing a direct sales site and to educate the community about nutritional, health, economic and environmental benefits of buying direct from local producers.

Board of Directors

Dedication. Expertise. Passion.

The Tahlequah Farmers Market Board of Directors is made up of local folks who care deeply about this community and the people who make it special. From farmers and makers to volunteers and supporters, the board works together to keep the market running smoothly and growing in a way that stays true to its roots. Their goal is simple: support local vendors, create a welcoming space for shoppers, and help the market continue to be a place where neighbors connect and community comes first.

President

Marla Saeger

Marla Saeger has been a blessing to our market from the very day she started. That was in 2010. She joined the board of directors and quickly became president.

Under her leadership the market has blossomed! She propelled our market to be the #1 Farmers Market in Oklahoma in 2022, 2024, and 2025 through an American Farmland Trust Program. She has introduced several federal and state programs to our market that include SNAP, Double Up Oklahoma, and the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program. In
2023 the Cherokee Nation WIC program was introduced to the market.
In 2014, Marla helped start our Farm to School Program. These are events where the market brings a “Mini Market” to third graders in all Tahlequah Public Schools.

Marla, the farmers market and our community thank you for your
many years of dedication, devotion and friendship.

Linda Johnson

I'm Linda Johnson of Single Loop Ranch. I've been a member of the Tahlequah Farmers Market for 16 years, including 15 years on the Board of Directors in a variety of roles currently as the Vice President/Secretary.  Our farm is located in Tahlequah, OK, where we are home to 2 horses, 40 cows, a few dozen chickens, Z the dog, and innumerable cats. It has always been fun to be a market member and it's been a privilege to serve on the board.

Treasurer

Tabatha Hibbs

Tabatha has been a customer and supporter of the Tahlequah Farmers Market since the market was at the Lutheran Church. She served on the Board previously and spent a summer cooking samples when the Market was in the park. She has been a vendor since 2022 and loves the opportunities the Market offers small, local businesses.

As a Board member, Tabatha is dedicated to supporting the vendors' success through marketing and educating the public on the benefits of shopping at Farmers Markets.

Public Relations

Samantha Christie-White

My name is Samantha Christie-White. I am a Native American woman who has turned her passion for farming into a thriving business. I grew up in a rich cultural heritage that emphasized respect for nature. I established S&C Farms LLC in 2020 with the DBA Mizzfit Produce with the support from my go-to guy and husband, Colin White. Together, we have two wonderful children who are learning the values of hard work and community. Our goal is to provide farm- fresh, healthy foods for the local community and to serve as an

educational hub by sharing traditional agricultural knowledge and promoting eco-friendly practices. Through our dedication and entrepreneurial spirit, S&C Farms is a shining example of how one can honor their roots while building a successful future.

Market Manager

Dean Bailey

Dean has been a good friend of the market since he was a teenager, when we were set up in the park! He is now our Market Manager. He gets to the Pavilion early and sets up the market booth with tables, chairs etc. He manages the electrical cords for vendors needing electricity. During the day he runs the EBT machine which takes care of the SNAP and Senior cards, answers questions and does whatever else needs to get done! After noon, he tears down and stores everything. We are lucky to have him!
