Farm 2 School Program
"One great success is the “Farm to School” event that brought the Tahlequah Farmers’ Market to several 3rd Grade classes. Each 3rd grader was given “Veggie Vouchers” to use at the Farmers’ Market."

Tahlequah Farmers Market was introduced to the FARM to SCHOOL program in 2014 by Tahlequah B.E.S.T. Coalition and Cherokee Nation Healthy Nation. By partnering with our local organizations and coalitions we are able to encourage healthy eating habits and provide access to locally grown food for children and families in our community, as well as provide direct sales access for Oklahoma farms.
The Farm to School program is funded by a CDC grant.
The grant and our partners allow us to provide each child with a TFM shopping bag, recipe cards, fruit & vegetable information, magnets, and most importantly, "VEGGIE BUCKS" for each child to spend on veggies & fruit!
